Dave Sewards
MD (as in managing director, not in the Doogie Howser sense)
From panel beater to agency MD. Loves footy, cricket and gambling. Don't ask him how Cheltenham went and never say the word 'advert'. Enviable client CV includes Jet2.com, Morrisons, Stoves, Barratt Homes, Vodafone, GNER. Most likely to say 'that way lies madness, madness I tell ya'. Get him a Bud, or if you're feeling fancy a bottle of champagne. Laughs like Dr. Hibbert off the Simpsons. So, maybe he is a doctor...
Rich Marson
Client Services Director
Rich is the Ying to Dave’s Yang. The Eric to his Ernie. The Yoko to his John. The Cannon to his…(enough already – Ed.) Rich’s strategic brain adds a little bit of inspiration to client briefs and he’s helped the likes of Thomas Cook, Virgin Drinks, Goodfella’s Pizzas and Tate & Lyle produce some brilliant stuff. In between time he helps the account handlers improve their handling and creatives to improve their creative. Is there nothing that ‘Disney Ears’ can’t do? I hear you ask. DIY. He’s rubbish. And his passion for Tottenham makes him an easy target with us hard nosed Northerners.
Glen Cartwright
Creative Director
Works across all of the accounts here at hôme, adding a bit of fairy dust to each and every one. How long’s Glen worked in advertising? Well put it this way, if ever someone tells you a story about something that happened to someone on a shoot - more often than not, that someone was Glen.
Ian Buttle
Creative Director
Oh, where to start? There's so much of him. This clever, witty, handsome 7ft long freak started young winning a coveted D&AD pencil at the tender age of 6. Since then his brilliance has continued unabated. Award winning work for Royal Armouries, Caffrey’s, COI and McCain has followed. Has an unnerving ability to get quickly to the heart of the brief whether its an aircraft, an oven, a tap or a male pube trimmer. Would dearly love to work on the Stella Artois account. If only to put to good use the extensive research he has conducted over the years.
Nick Jackson
Director
Ever seen Forest Gump? Well to make a film of all Nick’s experiences it’d probably end up turning into a trilogy, and unbelievably he’s still only in his 30s - unbelievable largely down to his middle aged wardrobe! Nick literally knows everything and everyone in the sportsbook and gaming industry, it’s a job which takes him all over the place. But he always stays in touch via his trusty BlackBerry - at any time of the day or night. (For instance, his horse racing tips usually come in at about 6am when they’re fresh off the gallops!)
Laura Gomersal
Account Manager
One of the original hômies, she's been here nearly 5 years! Leeds born and bred with a brief stint in Manchester to do advertising at university. Gummy, as she is more commonly known likes adventure trips, ideally involving jumping off waterfalls! She loves to keep fit but also likes a drink or two or three at the weekend, and has a strange affection for cows... She spends her time at hôme working on Heinz, GDPA, InterBingo and InterCasino (although she isn't a gambling fiend herself)! Her calm and collected manner makes her a fab account manager.
Roham Bayat
Designer
Loves hats almost as much as he loves design. Roham works on all areas of design - brochures to flash games he’ll crack any brief, and all while listening to Notorius B.I.G, whistling christmas carols (even in July) and munching his way through a 12” subway. Oh and apparently, wearing your jeans that low is fashionable.
Steve Garner
Art Director
Steve, or Crouchy as he’s known around here, due to his uncanny likeness to the England Striker, practises his robotics in between producing jaw dropping brilliance on a mac and telling incredibly bad jokes. Southern - but we don’t hold that against him. On mi head, son!
Claire Tallulah Richardson
Account Executive
Joined hôme on placement and never left! Loves going out (get yourself down Call Lane on a Saturday night and she’ll be there), brilliant fun and always welcoming, if you’re having a bad day and need a cuddle Claire’s the girl to go to! Spends most days managing press for Jet2.com or working on stand out recruitment advertising for Gatenby Sanderson. Just don’t ask her to make you a sandwich, you’ll get tomato ketchup, pesto, lettuce tomato and cheddar cheese!!
Louise Quiney
Account Manager
The lovely Lou joined hôme around two years ago. Working across a number of accounts including Jet2holidays.com and Gatenby Sanderson she always manages to remain calm under pressure. Always a source of sound advice she acts as almost a mother-figure to the account handlers, although she’s always one of the first to let her hair down on a night out! You could say she’s married to the job, quite literally as it turns out, having just got engaged to a hômie too.
Phil Tarry
Copywriter
Phil, one of the friendliest hômies, is immensely proud of the number of facebook friends he has, even if he doesn't actually know many of them. Phil is a witty copywriter with a passion for radio. If his copywriting skills were ever called into question, though just a year in the business, Phil would simply point to the Fresh award sitting proudly on top of his favourite dictionary. Remember, Phil has probably poked you.
Charles Townsend
Creative Artworker
Without Charlie the studio would be a less enjoyable and more hectic place to work! Yet to miss a brief or a deadline, Charlie will find the most efficient and effective way of getting a job to print. We think it’s pretty safe to say we’re all ‘Chaz Fans’ - even if it is a term he coined himself!
Dave Nutter
Account Manager
Affectionately known as Nuts (or ‘The Edge’) around hôme. The MD’s favourite account handler and a hômie for almost 3 years, Nuts knows all there is to know about Jet2.com. When he does manage to pull himself away from his best friend, the laptop, these days he mostly enjoys DIY, gardening and making sweet music with fellow homies. (Playing the drums in a band that is).
Kate Williams
Account Manager
Kate graduated with a PR degree from the university of Teeside and made the progression into advertising 4 years ago. Since joining home back in 2006 Kate has become one our much loved account managers. Having worked on Stoves, UKIP and Jet2.com (all be it briefly), Kate has built up an enviable knowledge of ovens, politics, direct mail and fantastic ad campaigns. She always manages to put a smile on your face and loves to sing ‘Happy Birthday’, badly…
Phil Ogrodnik
Senior Art Director
Or ‘Odds’ as we like to call him. He’s tall. Really, really tall. So tall in fact that even tall people get neck-ache looking at him. He mumbles a lot but we forgive that since he’s extremely talented and also a perfectionist – handy considering that it’s his job to make our creative work look fantastic. Oh, and his favourite phrase is ‘Alright, fella?’.
Tom Evans
Designer
Always putting his hand to something new, Tom’s taste in design and music is as eclectic as his tastes in jokes. With what seems to be a very laid back attitude to his surroundings Tom is never the last to jump in to help & is always working hard at something…whether it be his band or even increasing some man points at home with his ever improving DIY skills.
His recreational time is spent, with fellow homie Nutter, in Our Fellow Astronauts, which can only be described as “music played by the UK's most up-and-coming band”. Look out for them playing at a venue near you!
Stewart Wells
Copywriter
What can we say about our Stew? When he’s not writing TV scripts bigger than most of our budgets he's correcting the poor grammar of his fellow Hômies.
But his talent doesn’t just end there, between you and me, (sorry Stew - You and I) this Brummie Hômie is a damn fine illustrator and photographer too.
In fact, can we simply brand Stew as a copywriter? He’s multi-talented. He’s extremely creative. He’s...erm...well, a picture says a thousand words.... Stew’s special. (See picture)
Alex McGeechan
Designer
The newest member of our design team, Alex has a fantastic eye for creative design, is a faultless artworker and he can even animate in Flash! An all-round talent and an all-round good guy, this “nubie” has already proved to be a real asset..
Melanie Beer
Account Executive
Mel/Mulvin/Princess Jasmine first came to hôme in 2005 on placement and wowed everyone so much as soon as she finished off her modern language and marketing degree at Newcastle, we asked her to come straight back to us. Mel has over two years experience in advertising, working on Belling, the UK’s number one cooking brand, Lec, William Hill and Deva. Mel’s great to have around the agency regardless of how guilty she makes us all feel by going to the gym every morning!
Sam Walsh
Art Director
A chilled out entertainer. Shy and retiring, hard working and the wearer of well fitting trousers. Sam isn’t any of these. Has a habit of bringing up his Fresh award at every opportunity and quoting David Brent. He also likes to produce some cracking work so we forgive him his shortcomings. Shoot.
Anthony Brown
Online Account Manager
Anthony (or TB as he is affectionately known) started out as a client and ended up a hômie! He works on Vodafone, Jet2holidays.com and Halo to name a few. In his spare time he enjoys drinking (tea - and by gosh does he make a mighty brew!), playing football, making soup and other manly things. TB is always the first to lend a hand and is a true gent!
Shirelle Pexton
Account Director
Hailing from the Land of Green Ginger (no, really!) Shirelle heads up the GDHA, Comparisons and Iberostar teams here at hôme. It’s quite an eclectic mix that takes in cookers, holidays, fridges, insurance and financial services. She is also a whizz with DM – ask her anything you like! Shirelle is great at advertising but not so good with cars – just ask her how long hers has been off the road or how snow chains work!
Colin Woodcock
Designer
A huge blues fan and never caught without a flat cap, Colin is a dab hand at anything web related. Working across many accounts at home, he is as happy building a flash banner as he is cobbling together a website. Occasionally can be the butt of a school boy prank or two (no, the mouse can’t move on it own), thank god he has a great sense of humour!
Sarah Grace aka Gracey or Monica
Account Manager
As well as working on Jet2holidays.com, Jet2.com, Your Move, and Logical, Sarah ‘OCD’ Grace is the heartbeat of hôme and in charge of everything from stationery to Health and Safety. She has a fact for everything - did you know all snails are hermaphrodites and that they can sleep for up to 3 years? Sarah is a big theatre and musical fan which automatically puts her in the top ten percent in the hômie culture stakes, she loves a good wedding, and enjoys spending time with her girls (of the 4-legged kind - Holly, Tilly & Betsy) Sarah became a hômie in October 2007 and the agency has never been better organised.
Claire Main
Artworker
Claire Main, better known as Clackers, has been a friend of hôme before hôme even started. After freelancing on and off for us for many years, we've
finally lured her back hôme where she exercises her eagle eye for detail and
the ability to freakishly always remain calm. When not on holiday somewhere
exotic, Clackers entertains us with her love of alien in a basket movies,
truckers on ice, wonky eyes and evil dictators.
Andrew Crawley
Head of Studio
Andrew (Drewcifer) has been designing since the days Mac’s cost the price of a house! A font of knowledge when it comes to typography and design, it is
sickening how easy he makes graphic design look.
His eye for detail means anything he works on is of the highest standards,
however he's really bad at spotting big fat ditches when throwing himself
down the side of a hill on his mountain bike. Loves fast cars, jazz, Tescos
bargain bin, his dog (Lady) and Ribena. Hates British hip hop, people who
talk in the cinema and trying to tie his shoelaces with one hand.
Nicole Green
Artworker
Nicole "The Bear" Green has been with hôme since time began, and over
the years has firmly established herself as the South African Princess
of Press! If there's an ad with an urgent deadline, Nicole's your
man! She has a passion for heavy metal, handbags and hair dye and can
eat her own body weight in Sauerkraut.
Barry Bell
Senior Web Developer
Senior Web Developer doesn’t even begin to cover what he does here at hôme, he’s known as ‘Tech Support’ to some around these parts. Baz is a genius - fact. He once sent a monkey into space in a machine constructed solely out of unused, indoor shoes from his old primary school - now that is genius.
When he’s not here he likes triathalons and eating, not usually at the same time. Barry is our very own Iron Man!
Jon Howson
Web Developer
One word - Fido! His hair is spikier than a hedgehog in a wind tunnel with some extra firm hold gel chucked into the equation. His genius is fuelled by an endless supply of e-numbers which he grazes on steadily throughout each day. His ipod only knows one setting - loud.
Sharon Braithwaite
Solution House Production Manager
A key member of Solution House, Sharon manages work from clients every step of the way, from initial printing and finished production right through to fulfilment. When not watching the latest action or tearjerker films, Sharon is yet another big Leeds Rhinos fan and a Leeds United fan, for her sins (her words, not mine). Question is, is watching Leeds United action or tearjerker? You decide.
Andy Guest
Solution House Production Manager
As Production Manager for Solution House, Andy spends his days coordinating all aspects of production on a wide range of clients. Outside of work Andy loves a good game of football, why he has a season ticket for Leeds United is anyone’s guess! Apart from football, he enjoys travelling, socialising and the odd glass of beer or wine.
Shaun Day
Solution House Founder
Some say he’s rugby mad, others just say he’s mad. As you may have guessed Shaun, apart from being founder of Solution House and inventor of Slatcom, is a rugby fanatic and massive Rhino’s fan. And, it seems to be somewhat of a family trait too, with his eldest son playing for Wetherby Union and his youngest playing Wetherby Bulldogs.
Debbie Hitchins
Solution House Financial Director
When she's not juggling the ins and outs of Solution House's finances, Debbie spends her time entertaining her daughter, running, shopping and listening to her partner Shaun rattle on about Leeds Rhinos - well, listen may be exaggerating a bit... Anyway, Debbie says that ‘behind every successful man is an even more successful woman’ Shaun’s response to that was 'what’s that about the Rhinos?'.
